Introduction
The Percy Jackson book series is a set of five books that follow the adventures of a young boy named Percy Jackson as he discovers he is a demigod, the half-human, half-god offspring of Greek god Poseidon. The books are published in order of release, with The Lightning Thief being the first and The Last Olympian being the fifth and final book in the series.
The Lightning Thief
The Lightning Thief is the first novel in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series. The novel was published on July 1, 2005, by Miramax Books. It was written by Rick Riordan and has been published in several different languages.
The Sea of Monsters
The Sea of Monsters is the second book in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. It was written by Rick Riordan and published in 2006.
In this book, Percy Jackson and his friends go on a quest to save their friend Grover from the Cyclops Polyphemus. Along the way, they must battle Zeus’s evil daughter, Tyson.
The Titan’s Curse
The Titan’s Curse is the third novel in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, written by Rick Riordan. It was published on May 1, 2007. In this book, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Thalia Grace team up with Nico di Angelo to save Artemis from being kidnapped by a group of Giants.
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The fourth book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Battle of the Labyrinth, was released on May 6th, 2008. In this novel, Percy Jackson finds out that somebody has released monsters from the Underworld into the world and it’s up to him to stop them. The book follows Percy as he goes on a quest through a labyrinth to find Zeus’ lightning bolt before the Titans can get their hands on it. Along the way, he meets some new friends and faces some old enemies.
The Last Olympian
The Last Olympian is the fifth and final novel in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. It was released on May 5, 2009. The story follows the demigod Percy Jackson as he leads an army of demigods to defeat Kronos and his Titans.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Heroes of Olympus series, and The Trials of Apollo series (collectively known as Percy Jackson & the Greek Heroes) are a pentalogy of adventure and mythological fiction books written by American author Rick Riordan. Based on Greek mythology, the novels chronicle the adventures of a young demigod named Percy Jackson as he discovers his true identity and battles an ongoing war between the Greek gods.
The first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, was published in 2005 and became a bestseller. It was followed by The Sea of Monsters in 2006, The Titans’ Curse in 2007, The Battle of the Labyrinth in 2008, and The Last Olympian in 2009. In 2010, Riordan released three spin-off novels based on other characters from Greek mythology: The Demigod Files, which contained three short stories; The Sword of Hades, a novella; and Percy Jackson: Camp Half-Blood Confidential, an authoritative guide to the series. In 2013, Riordan published another spin-off novel based on Greek mythology called The House of Hades.
The novels have been turned into two films: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013), both directed by Chris Columbus.
The Son of Neptune
The Son of Neptune is the second book in The Heroes of Olympus series, written by Rick Riordan. Following on from The Lost Hero, it was published on October 4, 2011. In the book, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Hazel Levesque travel to Camp Jupiter in California to rescue Percy’s friend Tyson and defeat the giant Polybotes.
The Mark of Athena
The third book in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series is The Mark of Athena. In this book, Percy and his friends must journey to Rome to prevent a war between the Greek and Roman gods.
The House of Hades
The House of Hades is the fourth and final novel of the Heroes of Olympus series, written by American author Rick Riordan. It was published on October 8, 2013, and is a sequel to The Mark of Athena. The novel is told in alternating first-person narratives from the two main protagonists Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. It features the return of Gaea, who plans to punish humanity by breaking free from her underground prison and bringing about Ragnarok, the end of the world in Greek mythology. In order to prevent this, Percy and Annabeth journey to Tartarus to close the Doors of Death. Along the way they are joined by several other demigods including Nico di Angelo, Hazel Levesque, Reyna Ramirez-Arellano, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez and Frank Zhang.
